Freshly roasted coffee releases gas. If brewing is uneven straight after roasting, let it rest a few days and try again.
Keep your recipe steady while changing grind or brew time. Let taste guide you rather than chasing a fixed number.
Brew methods
These are starting recipes, not fixed rules. Ask us for help with your particular coffee.
Start with 18g coffee and 36g espresso, using a fine grind. Aim around 25–32 seconds, then adjust by taste. Use the dose recommended for your basket.
Start with 20g coffee and 320g water, medium-fine grind. Rinse the paper. Wet the grounds with about 40–60g water, wait 30–45 seconds, then pour the remaining water steadily. Try a total brew time around 3 minutes.
Start with 30g coffee and 450g water, coarse grind. Steep for about 4 minutes, gently break the crust, then press slowly. Pour into cups or a separate jug.
Fill water to below the safety valve and the basket level with medium-fine coffee. Do not tamp. Follow your brewer’s instructions, use gentle heat and remove from the heat when the flow starts to sputter.
Try 15g coffee and 220g water with a medium grind. Use the upright method: add water, stir gently, steep around 1 minute, then press slowly. Adjust strength with a little extra water.

Drip Cups
A ready-filled hanging filter with 12g of roasted ground coffee. All you need is a cup and hot water—ideal for work, travel or an easy cup at home.
Start with 180–200ml of water per sachet, then adjust to taste. Available online in boxes of 6 or 10.
01 / Open
Tear open the outer sleeve, then the top of the filter. Unfold the arms and hook them securely over your cup.
02 / Pour
Add a little hot water to wet the grounds and pause briefly. Add the rest in small pours, letting it drain between pours and keeping the water below the filter rim.
03 / Enjoy
Let the last water drain, then carefully lift out the hot filter. Your coffee is ready to drink.
