Chocolate, caramel and nuts, with a family farm story behind the cup. Fazenda Dutra offers a named-farm Brazilian coffee for those who enjoy an approachable flavour profile and want to know more about its origin.
The Dutra family
The farm’s story began in the 1950s, when José Dutra Sobrinho inherited a one-hectare coffee farm and developed the business over the following decades. His sons, Walter Cesar and Ednilson Alves Dutra, took over after his death in 1999 and continued investing in coffee education and quality.
The supplier places Fazenda Dutra in Matas de Minas, Minas Gerais, and describes coffee growing alongside avocado trees, with areas of preserved native forest on the property.
Farm altitude: approximately 1,000–1,300 metres above sea level, according to the supplier’s farm profile. Our lot is natural processed, NY4/5, screen 14/16, crop 2025/26; its exact plot and variety mixture are not specified.
Natural processing
Natural processing dries coffee inside the whole cherry before removing the dried fruit and protective layers. It is a different approach from removing the fruit before drying, as happens in washed coffee.
Supplier profile: chocolate, nuts and caramel sweetness.
