Colombia Supremo – Washed

Dark chocolate, berries and lemon give our Colombian Supremo its supplier-described flavour direction. It is an approachable choice for exploring both espresso and filter brewing.

Origin & the Supremo name

Colombia’s varied terrain and harvest seasons allow coffee to be sourced from different regions across the year. InterAmerican’s Supremo programme follows that harvest calendar, selecting regional coffees to meet a consistent style. Our purchase is Supremo screen 17/18, washed, crop 2025/26. The certificate of origin identifies SKN Caribecafe S.A.S. as the exporter of our lot.

“Supremo” refers to bean size, not a particular farm or coffee variety. We therefore do not attach a department or estate name that is absent from this shipment’s records.

Growing altitude: the supplier’s general Supremo profile gives 1,200–2,000 metres above sea level. This is the programme’s sourcing range; the exact growing area and elevations for this lot remain to be confirmed.

Washed processing

Washed coffee has its fruit layers removed before drying in parchment. The process offers a different route from drying whole cherries, and is central to the identity of this Colombian selection.

Brewing suggestions

For filter, start with 15g coffee to 250g water. For espresso, try a 1:2 coffee-to-beverage ratio and adjust to taste. Both are starting recipes to refine with your grinder and the finished roast.

Roasted in small batches by Black Eye Coffee Roasters in Malta. Available in 100g, 250g and 1kg, as roasted whole beans or ground for your brewing method.
